Stilo Helmets in NASCAR
Stilo Helmets has had a great year with many of the top NASCAR drivers making switch to Stilo this season. Drivers in the Sprint Cup Series have gone to victory lane 10 times this season. The lightweight, noise reducing earmuff and superior quality are just some of the reasons you are seeing more and more Stilo helmets at the track. Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Mark Martin and Carl Edwards are all running the ST4W GT Carbon. Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have made the St4F Naked Carbon helmet their top choice. Denny Hamlin has made the move to the Stilo St4W Zero the lightest weight helmet currently offered meeting the FIA 8860-2010 standard. Denny made the switch to the Zero helmet at the start of the NASCAR Chase and in his first race with it went to victory lane at New Hampshire.
Stilo Helmets will be at the PRI trade show in Orlando FL you can stop by and see us at booth 995 behind the Schroth Racing booth. Come check out all Stilo has to offer and get fitted for a helmet while you wait.
Stilo in the Winner's Circle
Big Congratulations to Joey Logano in the #20 Home Depot Toyota for his hard fought win on the new pavement at Pocono. Joey battled with his mentor Mark Martin for the last few laps at the end nudged Mark out of the way for the pass. It was a well earned win and his second in the Cup series. His first win was back in 2009 at a rain shortened event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Joey has been using the Stilo ST4W Carbon helmet outfitted with the top air system for all of this season. Stilo now has eight Sprint Cup Drivers using Stilo including Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, David Gilliland, and Bobby LaBonte. The combination of the unique top air system that delivers fresh cool air to both the top of the head and the face and the integrated noise reduction ear muffs has been a big benefit to the drivers. Kyle says he thinks “the ear muffs cut down the noise by maybe 30% - and that means less of a headache at the end of the race.”

KYLE BUSCH LEAVING HIS MARK ON THE NASCAR RECORD BOOKS
Kyle Busch has been busy the last two weeks winning races and leaving his mark on the NASCAR record books - and he’s been doing it wearing a Stilo ST4W Carbon helmet!
On July 9th, Kyle registered his 99th win in NASCAR’s top three series dominating the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway. After the race we caught up with Kyle who said, “This is cool man. This is right up there with the best of them. I haven’t won the big ones, so this is as good as it gets right now. I can’t put it into words.”
The win capped off an impressive weekend in which saw Kyle win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Thursday and finish third in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Friday.
What did he do for an encore? The following weekend, Kyle won the NASCAR Nationwide Series New England 200 at New Hampshire Speedway. With the win, Kyle became the third driver in the history of NASCAR to collect 100 national series victories and tied Mark Martin atop the all-time NASCAR Nationwide Series wins list, at 49.
“It’s fun to look back and see that my name is atop the list of names that have made the Nationwide Series what it is today — Mark Martin, Sam Ard and Tommy Houston to name a few,” said Busch. “There’s many more wins to go, hopefully. We can certainly make it a large number one day and we’ll see how that all tallies up in the end.”
Stilo is proud to be a part of keeping Kyle safe while he races hard. This year, while Kyle has been using the Stilo ST4W Carbon helmet in all of his races, he told us “The integrated ear muffs cut the overall noise by about 30% compared to my old helmet. I can hear more of what’s going on with my race vehicle which allows me to focus on racing with less distraction.”
Kyle also uses SCHROTH belts in all his race cars.
INDY 500 Testing with Paul Tracy
HMS/Stilo was at Indianapolis this week working with Paul Tracy to fit a Stilo St4F FIA 8860 helmet. After some fine tuning by Derek we were able to get Paul into a helmet that he will use in the 100th running of this years Indianapolis 500. Keep an eye out for the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Wix Filter no 23 car. Paul also has been a longtime user of Schroth Racing harnessbelts.
HMS would like to wish Paul and his team good luck in the upcoming race. You should also check out Paul Tracy’s Indy 500 Diary that he is writing on racer.com.
